About Us
The Light Christian Church (TLCC) is a spirit-filled body of believers located in mid-town and south Sacramento. We are "One church in two locations." Our mid-town location is 3909 36th Street, Sacramento, CA 95820. Our south Sacramento location is 7257 East Southgate Drive, Sacramento, CA 95823. We are a teaching ministry committed to sharing the Word of God in an uncompromising, simplistic, and practical manner.
Our worship services have been described as being joyful and jubilant, yet reverent, with an overwhelming sense of the presence of God. That's because at TLCC, we believe in giving God the highest praise not only during the worship experience, but also as a lifestyle.
Our dynamic and anointed leaders are Pastors O.J. and Lesa Swanigan. Our vision is to "Raise up a generation to walk in their purpose and fulfill their destiny." We believe that every individual was created for a purpose and as each individual discovers and begins to move in his/her purpose that we, as the Body of Christ, will be much more effective in spreading the gospel and building the Kingdom of God.

Our Pastors
Pastors O.J. & Lesa Swanigan
"And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ." Eph. 4:11-12 (NKJV)
O.J. and Lesa Swanigan serve as the Senior Pastors of The Light Christian Church, one church in two locations, located in Mid-Town and South Sacramento. They recently acquired their new South Sacramento Campus that comprises approximately 40,000 square feet of facilities to accommodate current ministries and a host of new innovative ministries, programs, and outreaches to have maximum impact in their community. They have been married for 28 years and have two kingdom impacting sons, Orintheo and Olan, and two beautiful grandchildren, Onna and Omari.
As anointed, visionary, and strategic leaders, Pastors O.J. and Lesa are truly a blessing to the body of Christ. They have the incredible ability to share the Word of God with boldness, power, and simplicity. As such, God has commissioned the Swanigans to teach, challenge, and exhort the body of Christ to wholeheartedly walk in their divine purpose and fulfill the destiny God has assigned to their lives. The Swanigans understand that as individuals commit to walking in obedience to what God has called them to do, that the manifested word and blessings of God become evident in their lives and inspires others to follow. Therefore, the Swanigans purpose to teach practical, life transforming, biblical principles designed to "Raise up a generation to walk in their purpose and fulfill their destiny."
Towards that end, Pastor Swanigan leads the Men of Divine Destiny (M.O.D.D.) Ministry in his local church. Through this ministry, men are learning how to take their rightful places in their homes and communities, and be the visionaries and leaders God has called them to be. He also teaches biblical leadership principles to entrepreneurs and business owners. An Apostolic anointing has been declared over Pastor Swanigan’s life and, as such, he serves as a mentor and spiritual advisor to numerous pastors, ministers, leaders, and men.
Pastor Lesa has a tremendous burden and passion to minister to the needs of women. As such, she leads the "Women of the Word" (W.O.W) Women's Ministry and the "God's Awesome Promises" (GAP) Ministry in her local church. Through these ministries, lives are being saved, healed, delivered, and set free. Additionally, women and young ladies are learning how to develop their spiritual gifts and how to boldly discharge the mandate upon their lives.
Pastor O.J. holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from the Sacramento Theological Seminary where he graduated Salutatorian. Pastor Lesa holds a Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Behavior and Leadership from the University of San Francisco where she graduated with top honors. They both frequently minister locally and nationally at churches, conferences, and other events.
Most of all, Pastors O.J. and Lesa are anointed, Spirit-filled men and women of God who walk in their purpose and are committed to fulfilling their destiny.

Our Vision:

Our Mission:
To reach lost souls, lead them into a saving relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ, equip them through the Word of God, and send them back out to reproduce. Mt. 28:19-20
What We Believe:
- In the triune God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; Jesus Christ is true God and true man
- The Holy Spirit is a divine person
- All scripture is given by the inspiration of God
- All have sinned and come short of the glory of God and are in need of salvation
- Salvation has been provided through Jesus Christ for all men
- It is the will of God that every Believer be filled with the Holy Spirit
- Healing is provided in the redemptive work of Christ and is available to every Believer
- The Church consists of all who have received Jesus Christ as their personal Savior
- There shall be a bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust
- In the personal, visible, imminent return of Jesus Christ
- In water baptism and observance of the Lord's Supper
